Reclamation District 2140 (RD 2140), formed in 2005, is the non-federal sponsor of the new Hamilton City Levee currently under construction by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). RD 2140 is responsible for paying a portion of construction costs, in addition to owning, operating, and maintaining the new levee, once completed.

The current RD 2140 Board of Trustees consists of three members who each own property within the RD 2140 boundaries. The Board of Trustees meet the third Friday of each month at 9 a.m. All Meetings are held at the Hamilton City Community Services District office, 211 Main Street and are open to the public.
